Spring weddings at Inglewood Estate, Yarra Valley

Image
The weekend before last saw the Yarra Valley bathed in that lovely summer evening light - the first of the season. Well, it certainly felt that way after all the rain! Casey and Daniel were married in the chapel at Inglewood Estate Winery, Yarra Junction / Kangaroo Ground. Just down the road from Wellers and Potters in case you were wondering. Everything was perfect, from the attentive staff to the glorious weather - we couldn’t have picked a better day. Here are a few pics from the day - please ask if you’d like to see more! Wedding Venues, Locations and Reception Centres in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Having been involved with hundreds of weddings over the recent years Simon Woodcock of Melbourne Wedding Photographers Wedding Snapper is well placed to offer a few tips on what works and sometimes what doesn't! Here are a few pointers to get you thinking about the location of your wedding. Location The location of your wedding may be the single most important choice you make. The city or town in which your wedding takes place will dictate the types of venues available, influence the tone of the wedding, and most definitely affect the total cost for you and your guests. It's also one of the earliest decisions you will need to make in the planning process when you're still just learning all the details about what's involved in planning a wedding. Local Weddings The simplest decision is to have the wedding in the city you reside. You will be able to meet one-on-one with every vendor and there is much less room for error when you can see and meet the people you...

Melbourne Wedding Photographer www.weddingsnapper.com.au Melbourne Wedding Photography I recently had the pleasure of photographing Charlotte & Lachlan's Wedding at Wild Cattle Creek Winery in Wandin. A crisp winters day offered some beautiful light for photographs, followed up by the reception in the Rustic Charm Restaurant. The best bit, apart from the casual and easy going crowd, 50s inspired dress and great weather?   The Lolly Buffet, of course! Wedding Celebrants in Melbourne that come highly recommended

Image
OK, so you've booked the wedding venue, you've put a deposit on that amazing wedding dress and you've booked me, Simon Woodcock as your wedding photographer . So far so good. Lets negotiate this next hurdle together.  Celebrants. You've heard the stories, I've heard the stories.   I've even had the misfortune of having some of the stories unfold before my very eyes/cameras. Before we go any further, lets make one thing clear. In this area, like so many others - the old adage still applies, "You get what you pay for" . Don't book a celebrant just because they're cheap.  Book a celebrant because you like them, their approach or their personality. It may cost you $200 more than you planned, but it's better than regretting Aunty Edna and her funny little service when you're half way through it! Ok, so 3 Melbourne Wedding celebrants I'm going to suggest to you are all very different, have slightly different prices and quite d...

Vik & Mick's Wedding - Swedish Church, Toorak & Brighton Beach Boxes

Image
Viktoria and Mick are a relaxed and easy going couple - a glance at their footwear will confirm that! Wedding Photography Melbourne Wedding Photographers Melbourne Starting with an intimate ceremony at the Swedish Church in Toorak, drinks followed on the beautiful lawn of the church.  It's such a peaceful and well tended garden.   While the guests were enjoying their fizz, I clambered up the imposing church tower with the bride and groom for photos and a 360 view of the city - spectacular! Our next stop were the beach boxes at Brighton beach - yes, it's been done 100 times before - maybe there is a reason for that?  Thats right - the pics ALWAYS look fabulous!  Such a great setting - we even had a little rain, but you wouldn't know from the pics - Vik and Mick played up for the camera and now have a wonderful set of bright and fun images to treasure. How to Find and Select a Professional Wedding Photographer – Without getting ripped off!

OK, so booking a photographer isn’t something you do every week, right? So, how do you know you’re getting a good deal and not getting ripped off? Here are a few tips to keep you safe in the photographer minefield – as always, Simon at Melbourne Wedding Photographers Wedding Snapper is always happy to chat and answer questions – just send an email or pick up the phone! How to Choose a Wedding Photographer 1. Experience Level -  How much experience does your photographer have?  Have they done other weddings? Do they have a portfolio? Is this a hobby or a profession? Ask questions! 2. Photography Style – What is their photographic style like?  When it comes to photography there are so many different styles, candid, classic, formal and so on. When you look through their portfolio do you see what you want your wedding day photos to look like? Do you want all color, black and white, both? 3. Chemistry/Personality – You may not have considered this one, but it is ju...
